Why “Kinetik”?

Kinetik Performance Co was founded in 2016 by manual therapist Jonathan Pierce. Our name comes from the Greek word “kinetikos” which is all about MOTION!


We are a team of practitioners and trainers who believe the human body was made to move. Whether your goal is to live your daily life and play with your kids energetically and without experiencing low back pain, or if you have your sights set on elite level athletic performance, or, for anything in between, we can help you!


We offer a wide range of services and classes including A.R.T./manual therapy, massage, acupuncture, personal training, corrective exercise, ELDOA (for spinal health and back pain), Kinstretch, laser therapy, biomechanics running analysis and running coaching, and more!

Meet the team

Jonathan Pierce - Founder / Principal and Lead Practitioner

Jonathan brings a wealth of experience to Kinetik Performance. He is a certified Active Release Technique Provider and uses his extensive background in movement, biomechanics, and strength and conditioning to help athletes and individuals with all types of injuries or performance issues.

Jeffrey Lacson - Massage Therapist / HHP / ELDOA Trainer

Jeffrey Lacson has been an active holistic health practitioner since 2012. He is trained in many different styles of massage therapy and works with a broad spectrum of athletes and individuals seeking high quality care and healing for their bodies.

Benjamin Kleinert - Director of Performance and Rehabilitation

A original founding member at Kinetik Performance, Benjamin serves as the Performance and Rehabilitation Director. He is a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist who uses his extensive expertise in biomechanics, strength and conditioning, and corrective exercise to optimize performance in both the sport and clinical setting.

Paolo Isaac - Performance and Therapy Specialist

Paolo is a Certified Personal Trainer who has experience working with a wide variety of populations in different fitness domains including weight loss, strength and conditioning, wellness coaching, endurance training, injury prevention, postural restoration, biomechanics, and rehabilitation.

Heidi Barker
Heidi Barker - Acupuncture / Wellness Consultant / Speaker

Heidi Barker holds a degree in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. Her extensive background of experiences and specialties, from orthopedic and sports medicine to visualization therapy make her an invaluable asset to Kinetik clients at all levels of athletic pursuit.

Ian Armstrong
Ian Armstrong - Sports Medicine Acupuncture / Orthopedic Specialist

Ian is a California native who graduated from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in 2009 and has been certified in Sports Medicine Acupuncture since 2011. Ian has worked closely with elite and everyday athletes to improve their rehabilitation and performance.

Marianna O'Brien - Operations Coordinator / ELDOA / Rehab Assistant

Marianna came to Kinetik for an internship in 2017 and has been an essential member of the team ever since. In her Operations capacity, she manages the office phone and email while also assisting with social media, marketing, and educational outreach. Marianna also completed her ELDOA 1, 2, and 3 certifications during 2018 and offers private and small group sessions.

Ciarán Lane - A.R.T. Provider / Manual Therapist

Ciarán brings some international flair to the office, hailing originally from Ireland. He has a competitive background as a cross country and track and field athlete which eventually led him to the other side of the therapy table – he now holds a massage therapy certification, two A.R.T. certifications, and will pursue further A.R.T. coursework and a Strength and Conditioning Certificate in 2019.

Tyler Stubbs - Performance/Movement Practitioner

Along with being an NASM Certified Personal Trainer, Tyler has multiple certifications in Nutrition Coaching and is a Functional Range Conditioning Mobility Specialist. His range of expertise and experience make him an invaluable asset to effect change in his client’s lives.

Zachary Roser - Strength and Performance Specialist

Zachary (Zak) is an NASM Certified Personal Trainer. He also has years of experience as a CrossFit Trainer/Coach and has invested 350+ hours interning with Jonathan Pierce at Kinetik. He holds a BS in Kinesiology from San Diego State University and completed ELDOA levels 1&2 in July 2019. Zak loves to work with clients one-on-one and help them achieve their strength and fitness goals.

Stacy has been working in the California fitness scene for more than ten years, and she is an experienced, gifted, and thoughtful trainer. She is committed to her clients and passionate about helping them look and feel their best.

Chase Roberts - Personal Trainer

Chase joined the Marine Corps at age 19 and began to discover the benefits and rewards of getting exceptionally fit. He strongly desires to help others learn and practice the fundamentals of nutrition and exercise, and has had success in the past 2 years of personal training in helping clients lose weight, gain muscle, and meet their performance goals.

Garret Fisher - Fitness Coach

A phenomenal athlete himself, Garret is well-known for his success as a professional CrossFit competitor and also as a celebrity personal trainer — most famously, working with rapper Rick Ross and helping him lose 65 pounds in a year. Garret is a lifetime fitness enthusiast and is passionate about working with any and all comers to exceed their goals.

Nuno Costa - Fitness Coach

Nuno comes to the Kinetik Performance team with more than a decade of experience in the fitness world. He is an elite-level athlete with a background in collegiate track and field and 9 trips to the CrossFit Games, including winning a team championship in 2014. He currently also coaches seminars for CrossFit HQ all over the world and is excited to join Kinetik to again work with clients in one-on-one and small group sessions, with a particular emphasis on working with teen and youth populations who want to excel at their sport or simply get fit.

Mac Fleet - Running Coach / Lab Technician

Mac Fleet currently still competes as a professional runner with the Mission Athletic Club, while simultaneously building a practice working with clients at Kinetik. He offers one-on-one training sessions as well as providing services through the LAB at Kinetik – our premier biomechanics running analysis facility. If you want to learn to run faster and farther (or at all!) and decrease your injury risk while doing so, Mac is your guy!

Aimee is an experienced yoga instructor who specializes in slow, alignment based yoga that can help with joint mobility, bone strength and improve your quality of life.

Michael studied at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine and has practiced acupuncture since 2016. He is passionate about helping clients to overcome injury and optimize their health and performance.

Kimberly Brutzman - Personal Trainer

Kim’s passion for athletics comes from her own competition experience in cycling, duathlon, MMA, and CrossFit. Her professional experience is similarly varied, having worked in pilates and starting young horses. Kim is excited to now offer personal and small group training at Kinetik. She is energized by helping people see their potential and build confidence through sport.

Our Facility
