Jonathan brings a wealth of experience to his clients at Kinetik. He is a certified Active Release Technique Provider and uses his extensive background in movement, biomechanics, and strength and conditioning to help athletes and individuals with all types of injuries or performance issues.
As a former elite athlete in Track and Field and distance running, Jonathan competed for Stanford University, where he was an All-American in the 3000m Steeplechase, and then ran professionally for 3 years with Reebok/Zap Fitness, Mammoth Track Club, and ASICS.
After completing his elite running career, he became the therapist for Mammoth Track Club for two years. During this time he mentored with several elite coaches, including Dan Pfaff and Terrence Mahon and also worked under world class providers including Dr. Chris Vincent.
Jonathan then practiced in a clinical setting at Fix Body Group with Dr. Shawn Robek where he was the Director of Rehabilitation and Training. Jonathan spent three years there as Fix became one of the elite rehabilitation facilities in San Diego. During this time, Jonathan also worked extensively as a consultant to several clubs in professional athletics, as well as for various shoe companies. He gained valuable experience at many competitions and treated more than 50 Olympians, many World and Olympic medalists, and world record holders.
Taking time away from the clinical setting, Jonathan spent the 2016 Olympic campaign working exclusively with elite athletes both as a consultant for Brooks Running and with numerous other individual Olympic athletes, including Olympians Brittney Reese, Jeremy Taiwo, Justine Fedronic, Evan Jager, Susan Kuijken, and Will Claye. He also began to consult with professional CrossFit athletes on performance and rehabilitation from injury and has become a key support person for many top athletes in this growing sport.
Jonathan fulfilled a long term vision and goal with the inception of Kinetik Performance in 2016 as a multi-disciplinary facility providing an outstanding, holistic growth environment for both clients and practitioners. As the lead practitioner and founding owner at Kinetik, Jonathan also chairs a non-profit branch targeting injury reduction for youth athletes and seeks to further develop an educational arm of Kinetik to serve the general community and provide seminars for practitioners.
When not working, traveling, or relaxing in his home neighborhood of Little Italy, San Diego, Jonathan enjoys running the trails and hills of San Diego, watching sports, and the occasional ski/hiking trip.
